Join us as we present a guided tour of the Prince Edward County shore of the Appomattox River below the soaring spectacle of High Bridge above. Start your journey at our Camp Paradise Access, and meet our guide on High Bridge Trail near the cleared Confederate fort. As you descend into the river valley, you will hear how local people participated in constructing one of the greatest bridges of all history up to that time in the 1850s, and then repeated the feat in 1914. Prepare to be astounded by the scale and scope of High Bridge from the bottom up. The total round trip distance of your journey will be around 1.5 miles. Plenty of water and closed toe shoes are a must. Long pants are recommended. Treat your clothes and hat with bug spray. Part of the trail will be steep.
