              Event Description:
              In September 2015, Rock the Block brought together over 4000 members of the Longwood community  with the Town of Farmville, local businesses and area residents.  Participants enjoyed a night of great music, outstanding food, and exciting novelties while being introduced to the fantastic products and services available to them by our local vendors as well as an Open Mic Night at the Crute Stage.  Due to the overwhelming success of this event, Longwood University and the Town of Farmville plan to host this event again on Friday, September 16th at Longwood Landings at Midtown Square.  We are also excited to announce that Rock the Block will again be held on the opening night of Longwood's Family Weekend. New this year…. your sponsorship will be expanded to include Family Weekend which attracts 700-1000 people to Longwood’s campus on Saturday and Sunday.

              It is our hope to secure sponsors (including payment) by Friday July 15th  2016 to ensure we have the necessary funds to proceed with planning. In order for your organization to be included in the Local College Welcome Coupon Book (where applicable) we MUST have payment by July 15.  If you have questions regarding the event or sponsorship, we would be happy to speak with you further.  Please feel free to contact us at rocktheblock@longwood.edu , 434-395-2493 (Jen) or 434-395-2107(Susan).
              Checks can be made out to the Longwood Real Estate Foundation and mailed to the attention of Debbie Epperson (Please write “RTB/Family Weekend” in the memo section) at 315 S. Main Street, Farmville, VA 23909. Please also include your contact information with the check so we may contact you regarding event logistics.  If you are interested in supplying donations, please contact us directly at rocktheblock@longwood.edu.
